BoysTown/Dunlea Centre (Engadine, NSW)

BoysTown Engadine/Dunlea Centre is an Australian residential secondary school for adolescent young people and their families. The Centre focuses on working with young people where there are identified behavioural issues. In partitular, the institution helps children, young people and their families with problems with abuse, homelessness, long term unemployment, mental health and disability issues. The school is located in the Sydney suburb of Engadine, New South Wales and is run by the Salesians Fathers of Don Bosco in conjunction with specialist teachers and social workers.

The Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse has, however, indicated that various Salesian Fathers have been the accused of and charged over offences dealing with child sexual abuse at the institution. This includes Salesians such as Father Paul Raymond Evans who was found guilty of 18 offences and jailed for 9 and 1/2 years in 2008 for the sexual abuse of seven boys while he was at BoysTown Engadine in the 1970s and 1980s.
