Patrician Brothers, Blacktown
Patrician Brothers' College, Blacktown is an independent Roman Catholic single-sex secondary day school for boys, located in Blacktown, Sydney. The College was founded in 1952 by the Patrician Brothers to serve mainly rural families of Blacktown and its surrounding districts.
Over the years the College has been surrounded in controversy concerning the inappropriate behaviour of some of its teaching staff and brothers. The following perpetrators have being charged and jailed for child sexual abuse:
Brother Martin Harmata (teacher) for 3.5 years for sexually assaulting several boys in the 1980s;
Brother Alan James Pollock (relief teacher) for 8 years for sexual offences against children in September 2014; and
Brother Michael Jeffrey Stanton for 23 years for sexual crimes committed against an 11-year-old boy in 1980.
Artemis Legal has represented clients who were students at this school.
