St Edward’s College

St Edward's College is an independent Roman Catholic secondary day school for boys, located in East Gosford, in the Central Coast region of New South Wales. Colloquially referred to as Eddies, the College caters for boys from Year 7 to Year 12. St Edward's is the only Catholic independent all-boys' secondary school located on the NSW Central Coast. It has over 100 staff and 1,000 students. The school was opened in 1953 by the Congregation of Christian Brothers.

It has been reported that the School has been linked with allegations of child sexual abuse by former Brothers at the school. Christian Brother Desmond Eric ("Neil") Richards' was sentenced to jail in 2016 for the  sexual abuse of three students from St Edwards in the 1970s. Brother Richards was a serial offender who was sentenced for the offences committed at St Edward’s College, was already serving time in prison for indecently assaulting four other boys at Christian Brothers schools in Albury, Wagga Wagga and St Patrick’s College, Strathfield.

Moody Law has represented and is still representing clients who were victims of sexual abuse by a member of the Christian Brothers.

We invite former students, teachers and parents to contact us to tell us confidentially what information they may have, and we will explain what options are available to help with these cases.
