Child sexual abuse compensation claims flood in after WA's statute of limitations lifted
The Western Australia Parliament in 2019 removed the WA's statute of limitations on historic child sex abuse cases. It may appear that those institutions involved in allegations of child sexual abuse will make payouts for compensation to the total of $700 millions dollars in WA. Furthermore, due to the large number of victims seeking justice for their trauma, it may take up to two years for some victims to get a trial date.
