Brother Aubrey Tobin

Brother Aubrey ( Michael Benedict Tobin) was born on 9 April 1913 and died on 31 December 1996. He was sworn as a Marist Brother in 1932, when he was aged 19. It is known that Brother Aubrey taught at the following schools throughout his career with the Marist Brothers:

  • Assumption College, Kilmore;

  • Marist College Bendigo;

  • St. Joseph's Marist Brothers College (East Brunswick);

  • Marcellin College (Bulleen and Camberwell);

  • Marist Brothers Preston;

  • St Patrick's College, Sale;

  • St Paul's College, Traralgon.

There have been allegations of sexual abuse by Brother Tobin against students when he was a teacher at Assumption College in the mid-1980s and against other students at St Paul’s College prior to joining Assumption College.

Moody Law has in the past represented and is still representing clients who were sexually abused by members of the Marist Brothers at various schools and institutions.
