Brother Edward Mamo

Brother Edward Mamo (born 26 September 1944) was a member of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart Order (MSC). He was employed as a support member of Monivae College in Hamilton, Victoria where he lived also on school premises. He performed various duties at the college including doing laundry, ground works, driving the school bus and coaching various sports at the school.

In 2013, Brother Mamo was jailed in Victoria after pleading guilty to sexually abusing seven boys at Monivae College between 1976 and 1980. Brother Mamo was sentenced to two years and three months jail in 2013 with a minimum of 18 months to be served in jail. In 2015, Brother Mamo was jailed again in Victoria after pleading guilty to an additional 21 counts of indecently assaulting 14 victims at Monivae College. Brother Mamo was sentenced to 34 months jail with 22 months suspended .
