Marist Brothers Newman College

Newman College is a pre-K–12 co-educational Catholic school which operates in the Marist Brothers tradition. It is currently a joint governed college with the governors being the Archbishop of Perth, Archbishop Barry Hickey, and the Provincial of the Marist Brothers of the Southern Province of Australia, Brother Paul Gilchrist. The College is a foundation member of the Association of Marist Schools of Australia (AMSA).

Like many Marist Brothers schools around Australia, Newman College has also being involved in cases and allegations dealing with child sexual abuse. One particular offender was Brother David Austin Christian, formerly principal of Marist Brothers' Newman Junior College in Perth, who pleaded guilty in 1995 to multiple counts of aggravated indecent assault against two boys (aged 10 and 11) in the principal's office.
