Brother Gerard Gladwin

Brother John Gerard Gladwin was a Christian Brother who worked/served within the Queensland Province. He left the order in the late 1970s after serving mainly at the following schools:

·         St Brendan's College, Yeppoon, 1956;

·         St Mary's College, Toowoomba, in the 1960s;

·         St Joseph's Gregory Terrace (Gregory Terrace) Brisbane, in the late 1960s;

·         St Joseph's Nudgee (Nudgee College) Brisbane, in the early 1970s; and

·         St Columban's boys' school, Brisbane, in the mid-1970s.

In the late 1990s, Queensland Police were about to prosecute Brother Gladwin following investigations done on him in relation to allegations made over sexually abusing students in the 60s and 70s. However, before Queensland Police could proceed, Brother Gladwin committed suicide thus avoiding prosecution.

Moody Law has in the past represented clients who were sexually abused by members of the Christian Brothers at various institutions.

We invite former victims, students, teachers and parents to tell us confidentially what information they may have, and we will explain what options are available to help with these cases.
